The Foundation

Foundation’s name is derived from a southern phrase that suggests someone is “losing a grip on their sanity.” We’ve repurposed this through the show, to speak to the idea of collectively getting/maintaining our mental health.
Through Getting my Cheese Back on my Cracker, we host conversations that provide a platform for addressing stigmas related to mental health in the Black community. By having relatable conversations and walking through real-life experiences and lessons, we shine a light on the fact and fiction related to ideals towards mental health. We intend to ensure everyone in our community knows that resources are available to resolve generational and new traumas that may exist in their lives.
As we grow our platform and build awareness through this series of conversations, we will collaborate with behavioral health professionals and build partnerships to provide the necessary next steps and resources in mental wellness. We will develop contacts and resources and push to provide behavioral health avenues to Black communities.
